Common Poker Terms 4
2010-11-25
Hello and thanks for coming by. It is time to define more terms that should come up as you work to succeed at poker on Mac poker sites. I must admit that I am having fun going in order according to the alphabet. If nothing else it prevents me from pulling my hair out as I try to decide which terms to choose since there are so many.

For the letter 'I' let's define ICM, which is short for Independent Chip Model. If you play sit & gos on a Lucky Ace Poker download, it is mandatory that you know ICM. When there are less than 10 players remaining in a tourney, ICM gives your chips a cash value and helps you make optimal decisions.

The letter J does not have a lot of variety when it comes to poker terms, so we will just go over 'jam'. If you have some free poker training and the instructor recommends that you jam, he is saying to go all-in. It is interchangeable with the terms 'shove' and 'push'.

The next word I will mention is 'kill'. If you decide to play poker at your B&M instead of clearing your Bingo codes, one of your options will probably be a kill game. A kill acts as an additional blind for anyone that wins two hands in a row. A half kill requires just 1.5 times the big blind while a full kill is 2 times the big blind. People that do not like the tough games in online poker rooms might prefer kill tables since they have the ability to slow aggressive players down a bit.

When someone calls, raises, or bets 'light', they are doing it with a hand that is relatively weak. Pretend that you are on your Everest Poker download and you receive 92 in the big blind. A person that opens frequently in late position raises on the button, and you make a 3-bet since you figure he is usually raising a wide range here. He is probably raising light in late position, and you are reraising light from the blinds. You should encounter these types of hands often on poker sites.

We have gone through another four terms just now, so that is it for today. In December I will start with the letter M and I plan to have plenty of great examples ready to go. This gives you plenty of time to practice your game. Full Tilt is a good site if you want somewhere new to play.  Full Tilt Poker%u5DF2%u7ECF%u6210%u4E3A%u6700%u4E13%u4E1A%u7684%u7F51%u7EDC%u6251%u514B%u5E73%u53F0%uFF0C%u8D76%u5FEB%u5230%u6211%u4EEC%u7684Full Tilt Poker%u4E0B%u8F7D%u9875%u9762%u4E0B%u8F7D%u6E38%u620F%u5927%u5385%uFF0C%u4F53%u9A8C%u4FBF%u6377%u7684%u64CD%u4F5C%u548C%u8D5A%u94B1%u7684%u4E50%u8DA3%u5427%uFF01
